Mobility Safe Technology grew from firsthand experience inside skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation. The idea was shaped by seeing how quickly a mobility recommendation can become an operational challenge: therapy may know exactly how a resident should transfer, but the next staff member providing care still needs to find that information, apply it correctly, and locate another person when the task requires help. Mobility Safe was created to make that moment easier to navigate through practical technology designed around the people actually providing care.

Mobility Safe did not begin as an abstract technology concept. It began with a clinical workflow problem.
As an occupational therapist working in skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation, Antonio Johnson regularly worked with residents whose mobility needs changed throughout recovery. Therapy could establish a transfer level, device, precautions, cueing needs, or number of staff required, but that guidance still had to reach nursing, CNAs, restorative staff, and other members of the care team throughout the day.
A second problem was equally familiar. When a mobility task required another staff member, finding help could mean leaving the resident, walking hallways, checking nursing stations, calling departments, or waiting until someone happened to be nearby. The issue was not a lack of caring people. It was the absence of a simple workflow connecting the person who needed help with the person who could respond.
Antonio's broader background reinforced that interest in practical systems. His healthcare experience began in the U.S. Navy and later expanded through healthcare administration, occupational therapy, rehabilitation leadership, education, and community service. Those experiences shaped a view of technology as something that should reduce friction for the people doing the work rather than create another layer they have to work around.
Mobility Safe Technology grew from a simple question: Can mobility information and staff assistance be easier to reach at the exact moment care is being provided?
The purpose of Mobility Safe is not to place another screen between staff and residents. It is to shorten the steps surrounding a mobility task so the information, assistance, or direction a team member needs can be reached without pulling attention away from the person receiving care.
Technology earns its place in healthcare when it becomes useful in the background. Mobility Safe is built around that principle: support the decision, connect the team, and allow the human interaction to remain the most important part of the encounter.
Antonio Johnson brings together experience from military healthcare, occupational therapy, skilled nursing, healthcare administration, university education, nonprofit leadership, and wellness-focused practice. Each part of that background contributes a different perspective to how Mobility Safe is being built.
Antonio is an occupational therapist with direct experience in skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation. His clinical work includes functional mobility, transfers, ADL performance, fall-risk considerations, caregiver and staff education, and interdisciplinary coordination across therapy, nursing, CNAs, and restorative teams.
His healthcare background began in the U.S. Navy and continued through healthcare administration and rehabilitation practice. Antonio holds a Master of Healthcare Administration and brings an operational perspective to the relationship between clinical information, staffing, communication, leadership, and healthcare workflow.
Antonio's professional development includes PAMS / physical agent modalities education and certification as a HeartMath practitioner. These areas reflect a broader interest in evidence-informed rehabilitation, physiological regulation, pain-management strategies, technology, and person-centered care.
Antonio also contributes to occupational therapy education at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences through teaching, laboratory instruction, and instructional support roles. Working with future clinicians keeps Mobility Safe connected to clinical reasoning, interdisciplinary practice, and the realities students will encounter in modern care environments.
Antonio is Founder and CEO of BRITE CC, a nonprofit organization that supports veterans through education, guidance, and connection to appropriate resources. BRITE CC helps veterans better understand areas such as benefits, disability and appeals resources, healthcare access, education benefits, caregiver resources, and other support pathways while encouraging appropriate referrals when specialized assistance is needed.
Mobility Safe reflects Antonio's belief that healthcare technology should respond to real problems observed in care—not ask clinicians to invent reasons to use new technology. The platform is being built around repeated moments when staff need clearer mobility information, faster access to help, and a more connected way to coordinate the mobility task directly in front of them.
